Stills from Strangers
Strangers was filmed entirely on location in San Luis Obispo, CA in August, 2009. It is the second film to be shot in this small Central Coast town in SBP's five year history. An extensive casting process began with auditions in Los Angeles in mid-June. Casting was completed by mid-July. For the first time, all crew positions were filled in San Luis Obispo County thus relieving traffic congestion on Highway 101 from L.A.! Set photography by Bryson Valente.
The Strangers cast and crew screening was held January 23, 2010 in San Luis Obispo, CA. A huge crowd filled the street outside the Palm Theatre prior to the screening raising concerns about traffic flow and safety. The film created such a buzz that passersby wanted in too. Once inside the theatre, the cast, crew, and guests enjoyed an encore presentation of the 2008 film, Komisky Mourning and the first screening of Strangers. Audience reaction was so powerful, it nearly overwhelmed the cast and crew. From the theatre, the party drove out to Port San Luis Harbor for a raucous dinner and after-party at the Olde Port Inn featuring an unlimited supply of refreshing adult and non-adult beverages (i.e. an open bar). This evening was so enjoyable and artistically fulfilling it was the absolute highlight of Scraping Bottom Productions’ six year history. What fun!
